Eurotalk Premium Set French Reviews

EuroTalk Premium French is a high quality computer based course that promises to take you from complete beginner to intermediate level French in no time at all. There are a huge variety of lessons, games and exercises to keep the learning process interesting and help you memorise important vocabulary. At such a reasonable price for so much course material EuroTalk Premium French only narrowly missed out on a place in our top ten, but is still well worth a moment or two of your time.

The EuroTalk Premium French course comes on a boxed DVD compatible with Windows or Mac. A download version would be nice, but EuroTalk does offer various other products that can be downloaded instantly (check the rest of this category for details). The software runs as soon as you put the disc in the drive, without even the need to install, which is great for kids or novice computer users. From there on in everything remains extremely easy to use with clear navigation between lessons and exercises, well drawn graphics and high quality video.

The EuroTalk Premium French course is aimed at anyone of any age, but puts an emphasis on learning up to date, modern vocabulary to help teenagers meet other young people of the same age. That's not to say it tries to make you feel old if you no longer wear your underpants outside your trousers and have regular mood swings, but there is a definite 'youth' feel to it. The lessons and exercises are well designed though and definitely cover all the bases when it comes to beginning to learn the French language. If we had to nitpick we could complain that there isn't enough coverage given to grammar and writing, but you will still cover the basics.

A well as lessons and exercises EuroTalk Premium French also offers lots of interactive games to help keep you motivated. Our particular favourite is one where you are in control of a small vehicle which you must guide to its destination by following directions in French. Clearly a lot of thought has gone into these and the cute graphics will definitely help keep kids interested. It's also possible to record your voice and compare your pronunciation to a native speaker's which is a great way to become more confident speaking the language.

EuroTalk Premium French is an excellent course well suited to younger people who want to start out learning French. Older generations still have a lot to learn from it, but may prefer a more in-depth course which covers things in more details. That said, EuroTalk Premium French will certainly provide you with all the basics you need to enjoy your next holiday to a French speaking country!
